Useful information
Everything you need to play badminton in Geneva – from essential equipment to where to buy it and courts to book.
What you’ll need to play
Getting ready is easy! Just bring:
- A badminton racket (one is enough to start!)
- Indoor sports shoes with non‑marking soles (no black soles, please — courts like to stay clean 😉)
- Comfortable sportswear: shorts, T‑shirt, and a warm‑up suit for before or after games
- A towel, if you think you’ll break a sweat (you probably will!)
Good news: BC OMS takes care of the rest. Nets and shuttles are provided and stored on site, and the club also has a basic first aid kit—just in case.
Where to buy your badminton gear
Whether you’re a beginner or looking to upgrade, Geneva has plenty of options:
Sport Import
Route des Acacias 25,
1227 Les Acacias
https://www.geneve-sport-import.ch/
022 343 43 13
A go‑to shop for badminton lovers, offering everything from affordable rackets to top‑of‑the‑range models. You can even borrow rackets for a few days to test them before buying. Bonus: it’s close to the Queue d’Arve Badminton Centre.
Esprit Badminton
Rue de la Faïencerie 6, 1227 Carouge

077 262 84 73
Univers Sport
Rue de la Servette 52,
1203 Geneva https://www.univers-sport.ch
Another great option where you can test rackets before committing.
You’ll also find low to mid‑range rackets at stores like Decathlon (Cygnes, Blandonnet, Charmilles and Rive), Manor, and Go Sport. Just across the border, shops in Val Thoiry, St‑Genis‑Pouilly, and Segny also stock badminton gear — some with test rackets available.
